Opportunity Calling with ISDN & PSTN Switch off
The countdown is on to the ISDN and PSTN switch off; WLR is being withdrawn and from September 2023 businesses will be unable to buy ISDN and PSTN telephone systems. In 2025, they will be switched off completely, ceasing to exist. All customers will be migrated over to an IP and/or SIP network which is more cost-effective, easier to manage and more flexible.
If you are one of the 2.4 million businesses in the UK that still has an ISDN or PSTN network, then NOW is the time to review your business communications infrastructure, so you are prepared for what is to come.
Trust the Experts
By working with CBG Telecoms, you will be assured to get the best guidance on what you require for your communications from experts. We will be able to design and deploy the solution that you require for your needs.
If you were unaware of the switchover then not to worry, you will be provided with consultation on migrating to IP, and whether to choose SIP trunking or a hosted phone system, how you can protect your existing investment and migrate slowly to the new technology but at the same time still reap the benefits. The good news is that benefits outweigh any benefits that ISDN or PSTN deliver tenfold.
Cost-Savings
IP and SIP are more cost effective because they have no rental costs, call charges are cheaper and internal calls are free between sites.
Scale up or Scale Down
You have the flexibility to scale up or down when required and moves, adds and changes can be easily conducted in minutes.
Mobility/Remote Working
There has never been a time when remote working solutions have been more required than now. Hosted IP solutions and SIP enable employees to work from anywhere and going forward it is predicted that after the COVID-19 crisis that people will be working in a hybrid manner with some based in the office and some based at home.
Working as a Team
During lockdown and the pandemic, it is vital for businesses to carry on as normal as they can and for colleagues to work together. IP solutions enable unified communications so employees can collaborate with each other via video conferencing, conference calls, send instant messages and work on shared documents.
Integration is Key
One of the main advantages of IP and SIP is its flexibility allowing you to integrate other technologies with it, such as Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) in your contact centre so you can deliver a personalised service to your customers.
More information can be found on the BT Openreach and Ofcom sites.
This is an ideal time to review your fixed telephony options.
Opportunity Calling
Fibre solutions such as SIP and SIP trunks offer flexibility, speed, resilience and access to cloud-based services. Openreach’s Single Order Generic Ethernet Access (SOGEA) stand-alone superfast broadband provides Fibre to the Cabinet connectivity, without the need for a traditional voice line.
We view this the big switch off as an opportunity for businesses to embrace IP hosted and SIP solutions, not to future proof their business but to be ready for the NOW and start their digital transformation journey.
