The Pentire Partnership provides learning and development leading to accredited qualifications in Voluntary Sector Management.

The Pentire Partnership is passionate about the voluntary sector and its role in society and believes organisations of all types and size need to invest in their people at every level, volunteers and staff alike, to support the needs of the organisation in delivering services to beneficiaries and service users.  Constant change, resource constraints, more competition for voluntary donations, a greater emphasis on generating service income and many other challenges means that all organisations need to have trained and knowledgeable staff to make the most of their financial, physical and human resources.

Why create BTEC qualifications and not just deliver training?

Every sector, including the voluntary sector, is awash with unaccredited training that varies in quality and consistency.  To assist in this, we have developed a suite of seven BTEC qualifications, accredited by Edexcel, which are based on the National Occupational Standards (NOS) for Leadership & Management and uniquely tailored to the requirements of the voluntary sector.

What does that mean?

NOS describe the skills, knowledge and understanding needed to undertake a particular task or job to a nationally recognised level of competence and are proven benchmarks of best practice and developed based on extensive consultation with genuine managers doing real management jobs. There are seven qualifications to choose from:

  • Award in Leadership & Management in the Voluntary Sector
  • Award in Finance & Accounting in Voluntary Management
  • Award in Leadership Development & Charity Finance in the Voluntary Sector
  • Certificate in Leadership, Finance & Fundraising in the Voluntary Sector
  • Certificate in Leadership, Human Resources & Volunteer Development in the Voluntary Sector
  • Certificate in Leadership, Operational Planning, Service Delivery & Quality Management in the Voluntary Sector
  • Diploma in Voluntary Sector Management

What if I just want to attend a workshop without taking a qualification?

Whilst the workshops are offered as part of the qualification they are also offered as standalone events on each of the topics in addition to enabling participants to network with other like minded individuals to increase their knowledge, skills and understanding.  The workshops can be tailored as in house events with discounts available for organisations or individuals wishing to attend other workshops or undertake the additional study required to complete a qualification.  Course materials and a CPD certificate will be provided.
